About Us

 

Luther Auto Group is the Midwest’s largest family of dealerships with 26 brands and 50+ locations. In addition to representing new and used car dealerships and services. Luther has established the Luther Technical Training Center, a fast-track technical facility providing an education focused on automotive technology.

At Luther, we’re committed to providing an engaging and supportive learning environment with the intention of enriching lives, strengthening communities, and preparing each candidate for a lifelong career with Luther Automotive.

Training Center Resources

 

Bright space D2L and H5P will be used as the training center Learner Management System.

Textbook resource: “Automotive Technology Principles, Diagnosis, and Service” 7th Edition by James D. Halderman.

 

Necessary tools, equipment, and diagnostic scan tools are provided.

Student work uniforms are provided.

Student Expectations

 

  • Be punctual
  • Give 120%
  • Have a good attitude
  • Complete all classroom, lab, and homework assignments
  • Maintain a “C” average or higher based on professionalism, chapter assignments, lab assignments, formal and summative assignments
  • Be responsible for all assigned shop tools and laptop computer
  • Complete required manufacturer training & ASE certifications

Admissions

 

The Luther Technical Training Center is open to all students without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender, creed origin, sexual orientation, disability, or marital status.

  • Applicant must be able to read and write English.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants who are 17 and have not yet reached their 18th birthday will need parental consent.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a driver’s license and background check.
  • Applicant must be able to pass initial interview at the Luther Technical Training Center prior to placement at a dealership.
  • Applicant must be able to pass interview at a dealership with hiring manager and must be able to work at the dealership at least 2 months prior to the first day of Module 1.

Dealership Internship

Students are expected to work at sponsoring dealership during their time at the Luther Technical Training Center, including during breaks in module schedule and between modules; work schedule determined by their hiring manager.

Tools and Equipment

 

To best facilitate your education in the shop, power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment are all provided. Our highly trained and certified instructors are available before or after class to assist you in your studies. This provides ample opportunity for you to do extra work, receive tutoring, and/or have your questions answered.

Facilities

 

The training center is a 21-hoist, 2-classroom facility that is designed to provide a perfect blend of classroom space and workshop area.
