Westside Volkswagen Service Employee Makes Impact

With dedication and devotion comes great reward. At least that’s the case for service technician Jeana Behnke at Westside Volkswagen.

In October 2022, Behnke passed the diagnostics technician test which led her to become the first female VW Master Technician in the Central US Region. “I knew that I really wanted to go all the way with my VW training, so that’s what I did. But there’s still always something to learn,” said Behnke.

Behnke has been a VW Luther employee for nearly 13 years. Prior to Luther, she worked in service for various Nissan dealers and independent shops.

“In the early years when I first started trade school and my career, it was harder to work in the industry being a female,” said Behnke.

Behnke first went to trade school at the age of 30. During this time, she was a single mother to an infant and a toddler. “Some people didn’t have patience for it at first,” she said. “Luckily, I had a strong support system that helped make it all possible.”

Now, the industry has changed quite a bit since Behnke first started her career with more women taking on managerial, sales, and technical roles due to Luther Automotive’s committment to recruiting, hiring, and promoting women to help accelerate growth in the communities that they serve.
